Purpose Field families:
Foremost, thank you all for your dedication and support. Our mentees are all experiencing such amazing amounts of growth on and off their playing environments. As we continue to grow we must maintain a sense of order and efficiency to make sure everyone is getting the most out of their experience in the program.
• We are of course still at max capacity with an ample waiting list. For both off or in-season and/or congested schedules I highly recommend maintaining at least one session/week at minimum to ensure a roster spot. I also discourage against extended or intermittent breaks within mentees' regimen. If a mentee is physically fatigued or has an upcoming game/camp/event/tournament we will still complete recovery and mental prep session to adjust to their suitability. If a mentee is injured please still have them attend their session. There is always a modified program/therapy I can do to help them without affecting the area of injury. If a mentee is sick or exposed to any sick individuals please keep them home. For those who have individual or group sessions at the field please make sure to hydrate beforehand; we will schedule outdoor sessions according to weather to keep our mentees as safe as possible. As always, mentorship is the priority and it is imperative that we are consistent in our appointments to address life skills, confidence-building exercises, and our weekly personal wellness assessments in order to achieve positive results in non-physical areas of address. Most of our mentees are consistent and timely in regard; please make sure they continue to complete their mental health check-ins each week. The life discussions are an important part of our growth process and we cherish those moments of introspection.
• As previously mentioned please adhere to our cancelation/no-show policy. Any no-shows will be counted against the session allotment. Any canceled sessions after a 24-hour window will be counted against the session allotment. I have fill-ins who cover open time slots and I need time to contact them and fill availability. All mentees are required to complete at minimum 4 sessions a month. If there is a trend of repetitive cancelations and lack of commitment to attend I hold the discretion to not renew or refund session allotments. Thank you for understanding and being accountable.
• Renewals are due immediately following the completion of the last session in the allotment. This “holds” your spot as a temporary deposit. Due to Purpose Field’s high demand I am unfortunately unable to hold time slots pending breaks or non-major injury related reasons. For those who prefer online convenience please forward payments to venmo (@elonpaige) or ApplePay (559-309-2580). Once a mentee is close to their renewal time I will send a courtesy notification as I keep detailed record of usage.
• Thank you to the many families who continue to show up downtown every month and at other community service events and charitable engagements. We have our homeless outreach every first Saturday morning (1505 Santa Clara St, Fresno, CA @ 9:00a) and a food distribution every third Saturday morning (University Presbyterian Church, Fresno, CA @ 7:30a). All family members are free to join us. Relationship building is a priority and the more I can get to know my mentees the better I will be able to serve them. Let your son/daughter know they are free to reach out to me for any advice whether life or sports related. Thank you parents for offering continuous feedback and for trusting and allowing me to do what I do. There is always an open door of communication.
Summer was an absolute blessing and I have witnessed major improvements across the board in all of our mentees. Listed below is a form that allows you to input what days and times each mentee is available for the 2023-24 school year. Please be as liberal and flexible as possible as we have many individuals to fit in minimal amounts of time. If there are any questions please reach out to me directly. Upon receiving submissions I will be contacting you individually as well for confirmation and (if necessary) to slightly any times if there are conflicts.
I’m extremely proud of the growth I see in so many spaces and I'm excited to continue to see all the greatness from our mentees!
Thank you and love you all.
