BY FAITH

Foremost, thank you to all of our Purpose Field families for allowing me to serve your respective sons and daughters. The growth, positivity, and joy that is resonating within this space is truly a blessing to witness and experience each week. I am so grateful to be in this position to watch all of our amazing mentees thriving both on and off the field of play.

For our recently joining mentees - each summer I alter the schedule slightly as the ending of school allows for a bit more flexibility during the day. An availability form is listed below to complete by this weekend at your convenience. For each general time slot option there is a follow-up question that pops up where you may list the earliest time you are able to start for that period.

I will attempt to my best effort to match your requests, but please be aware, flexible, and patient to the fact that I do have a plethora of mentees to schedule. As to be efficient as possible I do without bias take into account tenure and rate of attendance/cancellations. Consistency is such a key element in terms of elevation and I value seeing each mentee weekly for reasons beyond athletics. If you have multiple mentees in the program please fill out separate forms. Feel free to list any vacations or other elements of discretion on the form below.

I know some of you have inquired about morning time slots; I currently have in-home rehabilitation appointments in the mornings and do not usually arrive at the facility until the afternoon. If time is extremely limited (sport practices, other trainings, etc.) and afternoons and evenings are tough to commit to please fill out the form accordingly and I will do my best to accommodate. I may be able to do early or late-mornings in some cases.

In regards to sessions specifically it has truly been a blessing for those who have been allowing your mentee to double up with a mentee of similar skill and/or age. The mentees tend to press a bit harder when they have a visual to compete with and the camaraderie is really cool to see. It also greatly helps with my scheduling to allow those with similar schedules to match and not be pushed to an unfavorable day/time outside their preference. Thank you to all those who have come in to cover last minute openings as well. In order to be at my peak mentally and physically for the mentees I have been limiting in-facility sessions to 5 maximum per day. While this may put a slight cap on availability it allows me the energy to be me each day. I receive additions to our waiting list pretty often, but I stand on the principle of the preservation of quality above quantity.

As always if you have any questions or concerns know that this is a family and transparency and honesty is always welcomed. The intent is always to find ways to improve and best serve the mentees. I appreciate all the feedback, texts, calls, and emails in regard to the lives of the mentees and I am happy to provide any perspective in assistance. I will also be starting a monthly zoom call for our Purpose Field families to allow a shared space to provide helpful wisdom in regard to general life, academics, recruiting, faith, and sports. I look forward to bringing on guests such as my parents, my college/pro athlete mentees, and former Purpose Fielders that are now adults to share experiences and descriptions that may assist your student-athlete. I will also feature a private blog where I will post excerpts, videos, and other articles that will be great contributors to the overall well-being of our mentees. Here you will also be able to submit general questions that will be addressed for all to consume in our monthly zoom call: www.purposefield.com/uplift

For our football mentees who are interested in extra training on the field for skill development to prepare for the upcoming season our associate mentors Jaden and Camryn (Fresno State athletes) will be leading group training for 6 weeks on Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm at Alta Sierra starting June 10. If you would like to sign up please visit: www.purposefield.com/thedrift

Lastly, we have not done a Purpose Field family fellowship in a few years and I would love to organize one this summer so everyone can meet each other. If any of our amazing families are willing to host at their residence - pool, bbq, food, games, etc. - please contact me directly.

Every third Saturday we are present at University Presbyterian Church at 7:30 am - feel free to join us to serve the community. We will be in downtown Fresno this Saturday for our homeless outreach on 6/7 at 10:00 am, 560 F Street in Fresno, CA (we will setup at the corner of F and Cesar Chavez). Please bring any non-perishable food items, water, socks, sunscreen, toiletries, or bathroom paper for a minimum of 20 people. If you have any extra tables and/or ice chests please bring those as well.

Love and blessings to you all and I look forward to continuing to plant in the lives of these young leaders.
