BY FAITH
Foremost, thank you to all of our Purpose Field families for allowing me to serve your respective sons and daughters. The growth, positivity, and joy that is resonating within this space is truly a blessing to witness and experience each week. I am so grateful to be in this position to watch all of our amazing mentees thriving both on and off the field of play.
This summer was incredibly productive and so much growth is happening across the board. I am really proud of the effort, coachability, and consistency of all our mentees. As school begins the schedule will get tighter as I lose the mornings and midday, but as usual I will work to keep efficiency and consistency for those who are committed and attentive. Please be as flexible and liberal as possible when filling out the availability form. For those who have been helpful toward the schedule by allowing mentees of similar skill/age to partner with each other, thank you greatly - it has been really awesome to watch the mentees compete and elevate each other.
We will continue to develop all mentees who are in-season if their schedule permits, gauging what we do based on how they feel physically and what rehabilitation demands are required for the week. Please communicate as often as needed. Our goal is to not lose what we gained during this summer, but to stay strong and injury free. Additionally, our weekly life conversations are pivotal and habitual for their personal development. Life will begin to get really busy for the kids and we want to ensure they are not overwhelmed, but rather confident and organized.
In order to be at peak mentally and physically for the mentees I limit sessions to 5 maximum per day (4 on Fridays in fall because I am at football games Friday evenings). There may also be a few times in the fall where I will be flying out on a Friday to be at one of our NCAA or NFL mentees’ games.
As always if you have any questions or concerns know that this is a family and transparency and honesty is always welcomed. The intent is always to find ways to improve and best serve the mentees. I appreciate all the feedback, texts, calls, and emails in regard to the lives of the mentees and I am happy to provide any perspective in assistance.
Every third Saturday we are present at University Presbyterian Church at 7:30 am - feel free to join us to serve the community for grocery distribution.
Love and blessings to you all and I look forward to continuing to plant in the lives of these young leaders as they work through this new school year and sports seasons.
